Small Steps, Big Vision: Choosing Progress in the Everyday

The start of a new year always comes with pressure. Pressure to reset everything. Pressure to go all in. Pressure to become a “new version” of yourself overnight. And honestly the pressure got to me too.
This January didn’t start with some huge, dramatic transformation for me. It started with some simple actions, choosing to take care of myself in small, intentional ways while still showing up for my everyday life.
And that’s what this year is going to be about for me: small steps toward a big vision, lived out in the everyday moments.
How My Year Actually Started
At the beginning of January, I did our 30 days to healthly living reset. Not a strict diet, not perfection, just a reset. A way to support my body, create better habits, and ease back into prioritizing my health after a busy Holiday season. (For more information on this check out my Wellness Page)
From there, I rolled into a 48-hour fast. That was a whole journey in itself, but the biggest takeaway I got from that was discipline.
And here’s the part that surprised me most, life didn’t stop while I was doing these things.
I still worked, I still took care of my kids, I still showed up for my responsibilities.
I wasn’t doing anything extreme just making slightly more intentional choices within my normal routine.
That’s when it really clicked for me.
The Power of the Everyday
We tend to believe that big goals require big, disruptive changes.
But what I’m learning is that the everyday things you do — even when they feel small — add up faster than you think.
You don’t need a perfect schedule.
You don’t need to overhaul your entire life.
You don’t need to do “more.”
You just need to keep choosing forward motion, even when it’s quiet, even when no one sees it, even when it feels slow.
That’s exactly what I want this blog to be about.
Releasing the Guilt of “Not Doing Enough”

If you’re anything like me, you probably carry a lot of ideas, dreams, and goals. And with that often comes guilt.
Guilt for not posting enough.
Guilt for falling behind.
Guilt for starting strong and losing momentum.
I’ve realized something important: guilt keeps us stuck longer than failure ever could.
Instead of beating ourselves up for what we didn’t do, what if we simply noticed it? What if awareness became the goal, not perfection?
Introducing the Weekly Reset
One thing I want to lean into this year is something I’m calling a weekly reset.
Nothing complicated and nothing overwhelming.
Just a moment to pause and ask:
How did this week actually feel?
What worked?
What didn’t?
Where did my energy go?
Is there one small thing I can adjust moving forward?
Not to judge yourself, but to support yourself.
Progress doesn’t come from dwelling on what you didn’t do. It comes from noticing, recalibrating, and continuing.
Every week is a fresh opportunity.
Making Space for What Matters (Including This Blog)
Honestly I haven’t prioritized this blog the way I wanted to. Not because I don’t care about it. But because life is full, chaotic and messy in both the good and bad.
This year, instead of waiting for “more time,” I’m choosing to fit what matters into the life I already have.
That’s something I want you to know too:
You’re allowed to build your dreams inside your real life, not after it becomes perfect.
Moving Forward Together
If there’s one thing I hope you take from this, it’s this:
You don’t need to start over.
You don’t need to do more.
You just need to keep choosing small, intentional steps forward.
This year, I’m focusing on progress over pressure.
Consistency over intensity.
Awareness over guilt.
And I’d love to do that alongside you.
Coming soon, I’ll be sharing a simple weekly reset guide — something you can use to check in with yourself, reflect, and realign without overwhelm. A tool meant for real life, not perfect routines.
Until then, take a breath.
Notice where you are.
And take the next small step.
It all counts.
